Alaska Airlines Selects STG for New Cabin Lighting

STG Aerospace has been selected as the supplier for the photoluminescent emergency floor path marking system across Alaska Airlines’ Boeing and Airbus fleets, as the airline begins to streamline the cabins of its Virgin America fleet.

Alaska Airlines will install STG Aerospace’s next-generation saf-Tglo SSUL photoluminescent emergency escape path marking system (EEPMS) on 116 aircraft across its retrofitted and new Boeing 737-700, MAX9 and Airbus A320 family fleets – making it one of the largest multi-platform programs ever awarded.

The retrofit program, which begins in late 2018, will see Alaska Airlines upgrade the photoluminescent EEPMS system in their Boeing and Airbus fleets to the latest saf-Tglo® SSUL design, which is the lightest, narrowest and most discrete photoluminescent solution available. Alaska Airlines will also replace the electrical emergency lighting system in the Airbus fleet, a change expected to realize operational cost savings due to the reliability and fail-safe nature of saf-Tglo, STG says.
